Were-studied´for´their antimicrbbial°resistance and R=plagm ds. A nong´ 50 strains-tested, `23 were.. quadruply resistant to chloramphenicol, tetracycline, streptomycin and ´sulfisomidine, and , three were resistant to the ´above described ´foiir -drugs and ampicillin. ´Only small number of test strains´ were resistant- to three or fewer drugs, and `14 strains were susceptible to all drugs tested. Twenty-two among 23 resistant to four and all (3) strains resistant to five drugg transferred their complete resistance to Escherichia coli ML 1410 by conjugation. Some strains resistant to three or fewer drugs also transferred their resistance by conjugation. Transfer of resistance was slightly better at 37°C than at 25°C, and at longer incubation than at shorter incubation.
